OSINT CSE - Create Custom Search Engine

Creating a custom search engine using Google Custom Search Engine (CSE) allows you to specify a collection of websites to search within.

Here's a step-by-step guide to creating a custom search engine with Google:

Visit the Google Custom Search homepage (https://programmablesearchengine.google.com/about/) and click on the "Get Started" button.

Sign in with your Google account. If you don't have one, you'll need to create an account first.

On the setup page, enter the website(s) you want to include in your custom search engine. You can add multiple websites by separating them with commas. If you're unsure, you can add a placeholder website for now and modify it later.

Click on the "Create" button to create your custom search engine.

You'll be redirected to the control panel for your custom search engine. Here, you can configure various settings and customize the appearance of the search engine.

To refine the search results, you can specify additional sites to include or exclude by clicking on "Sites to Search" under the "Setup" tab. You can also specify specific webpages or sections of websites to include.

Customize the look and feel of your search engine by clicking on the "Look and Feel" tab. Here, you can choose a theme, layout, and color scheme that matches your website's design.

Under the "Control Panel" tab, you'll find additional options to customize the behavior and appearance of your search engine, such as promotions, refinements, and search features.

Once you're satisfied with the configuration, click on the "Get Code" button under the "Control Panel" tab. You'll be provided with the necessary code to embed the search engine on your website.

Copy the provided code and paste it into the HTML source code of your website where you want the search engine to appear.

Save your changes and publish your website. The custom search engine should now be visible and functional on your website.

Via Public URL check your CSE. In our case, when passed digital forensics search query we got following result (ignore AD in top of screenshot)
